Fri 6.05.09 - FREE CPR Awareness Classes for CPR/AED Awareness Week
Superheroes don’t always wear capes. They just have two hands and the knowledge to save lives with them. Learn C-P-R for free on June 5 at the Pearl Highlands Shopping Center. Attend a class at either 9 A-M, 11 A-M or 1 P-M and become a superhero. Join the American Heart Association’s crusade against Hawaii’s leading villains—heart disease and stroke and strengthen the chain of survival. For information, call 5-3-8-7-0-2-1.

FACT: For every minute without bystander CPR, survival from witnessed cardiac arrest decreases 7-10 percent. The interval between the 911 telephone call and the arrival of Emergency Medical Services personnel is usually longer than five minutes; therefore, a cardiac arrest victim’s survival is likely to depend on a public trained in CPR and AED use and access to these lifesaving devices.
