In 1990 Jawaiian Music, a Hawaiian style blend of Jamaican Reggae and Contemporary Hawaiian music, was in its infancy but becoming wildly popular with local audiences. KCCN FM100 embraced and championed this new music style and sponsored the hottest ticket in town, the monthly Jawaiian Jam concert at the then Aloha Tower Terminal. With its production partner Events International, KCCN FM100 took its quickly growing audience to the Waikiki Shell, and so was born the KCCN FM100 Birthday Bash. The show has grown to legendary status, now hosting over 17,000 fans over two nights. People come from around the world to experience the party spirit and outpouring of Aloha surrounding this event. Every year KCCN FM100 assembles the finest Island Contemporary talent, incorporates the most up to date lighting, staging and video effects, distributes 10,000 gifts to the audience, and adds all sorts of other surprises.
