ABOUT HENRY KAPONO’S ARTIST 2 ARTIST SERIES
The launch of this new format will continue to feature multiple award-winning and GRAMMY® nominee, Henry Kapono, who will introduce a new opening segment that will spotlight many of Hawai`i’s diverse and talented musical entertainers, followed by some of Hawai`i’s most iconic musicians. Henry will “jam” and “talk story” one-on-one with each artist, “deconstructing” their career (as only one artist to another can do) to give the audience insight to the spirit and aspirations of the person/people behind the music.

ABOUT ISRAEL KAMAKAWIWO`OLE
Israel Kamakawiwoʻole also known as Bruddah IZ or simply IZ, is a world renowned Hawaiian singer & lyricist. He achieved commercial success outside Hawaii when his album, “Facing Future” was released in 1993, reaching Platinum Status selling over 1 million copies and has been recorded as the best-selling Hawaiian album of all time. His medley of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World” has been released on 4 of his albums since, and subsequently featured in several films, television programs, and television commercials. Now, almost 24 years after his passing, the music of Bruddah IZ remains on world charts and in the hearts of Hawaii’s people and fans around the world.
